London to host its first landmark event to recognise importance of bulk wine

A further sign of how important bulk wine and bottled in market wine is becoming to the way wine is bought and sold is the growing significance of the The International Bulk Wine and Spirits Show on the global wine industry.

Leading players in the bulk wine industry, including producers, wineries, importers, distributors, brokers and retailers are already set to head to San Francisco in July for the two-day 2017 event being held between July 26-27.

Now the organisers, Beverage Trade Network, has announced it is to take the show to London for the first time with another two-day event to be held between January 24 and 25. The fact it has chosen London as its European destination for the show demonstrates how important the UK is a central hub for bulk wine not only for the UK, but for its influence around the world.

The IBWSS provides a platform for players from across the wine and spirits industry, including major suppliers and on and off-trade players, to discuss the key issues influencing bulk wine and its strategic importance to the wine and spirit sectors.

As well as a full blown exhibition allowing private label and bulk wine and spirits suppliers and brokers to meet key buyers, the two-day events will also feature a business conference dedicated to the private label and bulk wine and spirit business.

This will include the latest in-depth market data and statistics on bulk wine trends as well the opportunity to hear first hand form major bulk wine players, buyers and distributors both in the UK market and around the world. The key focus of the conference will be to focus in how the bulk wine sector can drive sustainable growth and profitability in the bulk wine and spirit sector.

IBWSS is particularly relevant to both wineries and distilleries looking to sell bulk wine and spirits. It provides them with a dedicated platform to present their offer and find new routes to market both directly and through brokers and negotiants who offer contract manufacturing or private label programmes.

It will also provide a unique platform for buyers to meet new relevant suppliers, brokers, growers and producers focused on their channel of the trade.

Of the London show, Sid Patel, chief executive of the Beverage Trade Network, said it was the right time to go there: “The bulk segment holds the largest market share in the wine and spirits industry. Bulk trading is an age-old trade between producers, but we are now seeing the business take on a very impressive position across the industry. The International Bulk Wine and Spirits Show in London aims to give the bulk trade a truly dynamic trading platform where buyers can confidently conduct business with the world’s most reputable suppliers.”

Because London is such a “leading private label and bulk wine and spirits markets in the western world” it is “positioned perfectly for the fair”.

The event will take place betweenJanuary 24-25, 2018 at The Royal Horticultural Halls, 80 Vincent Square, London, SW1P 2PE. Details about early bird registrations are available here. For more information about visiting or exhibiting at the fair, please contact info@beveragetradenetwork.com
