April is going to be a busy month
Packing my bags now to prepare for my trip to Bordeaux to taste some of the much-hyped 2009 primeurs. Looking forward to tasting my daughter’s modest efforts in the entre-deux-mers along with the grand crus. (Aye – they’re a grand crew!) I’ll report back in common with lots of other wine scribes, of course, so you will all, no doubt, get thouroughly confused. Back for Easter then, culminating in a visit to Covent Garden Opera to see Il Turco in Italia on Easter Monday and then it will be Il Blech in Italia as I head off a few days later for VinItaly in Verona and Tristan e Isolde in Genoa. Three days later we are off to New York for our annual soak in of New York atmosphere and to catch up with a few eating and drinking pals as well as, of course, a couple of trips to the Met. to see Armida and the Flying Dutchman. Don’t know what time i’ll have for writing but I shall be taking my trusty computer with me anyway!
