The Latest 15th May 2017
Our Club behind the label Membership is gathering momentum and we welcome all our new members. There are some special notices for you at the end of this bulletin.
You can register for free at https://www.winebehindthelabel.org/user-registration/ and we’ll get back to you with further details of your type of membership, subscription fees and discounts available.
As a thank you for purchasing an annual membership, we will send you two Mark Thomas Lead Free Crystal Double Bend All Round Wine Glasses, worth £48 and four regional wine guides to download – Bordeaux, Napa & Carneros, South Australia and Alsace and Eastern France – value £20, or you can choose any number of regional guides of your choice up to the value of £20. Please let us have your full shipping address with postcode where we can send the glasses and a contact telephone number for the courier.
If you only want to purchase a quarterly membership, then we will just send you the regional guides and if you continue to pay until your fourth quarter we’ll send you the glasses then.
The next piece of good news is that we are organising our first wine dinner with some upmarket, cult, mature, Bordeaux wines from small producers at “The Yacht”, a boat moored on the Thames near Temple station. For details about this, go to https://www.winebehindthelabel.org/product/wine-dinner-yacht-june-13th-2017/ places are very limited. Of course, if you sign up to be a member of The Club behind the label, you can claim a 20% discount for yourself and one guest, which will actually cover the cost of your membership!
In the meantime we have still continued to be active with wine information for you with new postings on Wine News From Around the World, particularly as regarding the effect of the frosts in Europe last week. I have posted up a restaurant review of the long awaited arrival of Claude Bosi at Bibendum and Jim Budd reports on the Loire Millésime event.
Our series in our Guest Blog post pages from Jeff Leve, of The Wine Cellar Insider, gives an insight to the 2016 Bordeaux en primeur campaign and detailed tasting notes and ratings on over 600 wines. The first four have been posted up as free to view but from the 5th post onwards (Pauillac) these posts are now restricted to members to view.
Just a reminder to log in order to download this month’s updates and new entries to the guide to get advanced notice of entries which will form part of the 11th edition. There are 9 updates and 6 new entries. More to follow next month.
Other members only pages are the 5th and 6th instalments of Jeff Leave’s 2016 Bordeaux en primeurs report and the special booking form for members for our first wine dinner at The Yacht in order to obtain your discounts.
Happy drinking, happy eating and happy travelling
Neville and David
