Sonia and I spent most of the week at the Digital Wine Communicators Conference in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and what a great experience it was. Apart from meeting up with old friends and colleagues from around the world and making a load of new ones, we got the opportunity to acquaint ourselves with a number of first class wine producers and their wines. There are certainly going to be a few more entries in the Bulgarian section of Wine behind the label’s 10th edition, but you are gong to have to wait awhile for these. We have never been to Bulgaria before and I must say that I have been really pleasantly surprised by the kindness of the people, the scenery, the historic sites and the gentleness of the prices, too. We will be posting more on the tourism possibilities of Bulgaria, with or without wine, although it would be a pity to ignore Bulgarian wine altogether.

A visit to one of the wineries for dinner has inspired Sonia to post a simple recipe for lamb that you can see on Sonia will be writing more regularly with recipes for this winter, so look out for them on the site.

The pre-publication discounts on the hardback version of Wine behind the label have now expired, but those of you who are in or connected with the wine trade can obtain a 10% discount on the price and if anyone wants to buy 10 or more copies, there is a 40% discount for delivery to a single address. The hardback makes an ideal Christmas present and if you are thinking of rewarding some of your best friends and/or customers with a present, we can, for a minimum order of 20 copies, produce copies with you own logo. There is a small charge for setting up the artwork for the printers and discounts will depend whether you want us to deliver the books directly to the recipients, or whether we deliver all to you at a single address. The book is heavy, nearly 3 kilos in weight, and that makes it expensive to deliver, but please do remember that delivery will be free to addresses in the UK and the USA and an extra £5 to Europe.
