Adea Wine Company Willamette Valley
This family operation began life under the Fisher label but this had to change because of a winery name conflict. Adea is now named after the members of the family. The family estate vineyard was planted in 1990 with aid from Michael Etzel of BEAUX FRÈRES and the first wine produced in 1995. The Adea name has been utilised since 1998. The range of Pinot Noirs includes two very ripe opulent single vineyard bottlings from the Hawks View and Durrant Vineyards as well as forward supple Willamette bottling labelled Dean-Os which is the most accessible of the wines. The wines are dark, dense and full of black cherries and mineral notes. All are marked by their full-blown style and the wines can be in excess of 15% alcohol. It is also worth looking out for the Willamette Valley Chardonnay which we have not tasted. (DM)
