Bryant Wines Napa Valley
With production of just over a 1,000 cases the Bryant Cabernet has become one of a handful of bluechip California examples of the variety alongside such illustrious names as ARAUJO, COLGIN, GRACE FAMILY, HARLAN and SCREAMING EAGLE. The property is located in the Pritchard Hill sector of the Napa, close to CHAPPELLET and the Bryants evidently achieve much more from the area than their neighbours. The vineyards benefit from cooling breezes channelled directly from Lake Hennessey on the eastern slopes of the valley. While the wine has immense depth and power, it is also supple and rounded, approachable at 5 or 6 years. In part this is achieved with a five-day cold soak prior to fermentation. Two further low volume wines are also now released, DB4 and Bettina. The wine is bottled without filtration. Expect the Estate wine to age gracefully and be prepared to pay a very high price for it.
