Château Camensac Haut-Médoc
The quality of this property has gradually improved since it was acquired in 1964 by the Forner family. Much of the vineyard has been replanted and there is now a relatively high proportion of Merlot (25%) contributing to the style, which is round, forward and accessible. The wine spends between 17 to 20 months in oak, up to 70% new oak is used, depending on the vintage, whilst the rest of the barriques are of one vintage only. The wine drinks well at 5 years or so. Just a notch up in 2005, 03 and 00, early tastings of the 2010 confirm class well above its station . (DM)
