Fritz Winery Dry Creek Winery

Fritz Winery Dry Creek Winery

FritzWineryFritz was established as long ago as 1979 and production is still small and bespoke. Grapes come from both the Dry Creek Valley and the cooler Russian River, which provides an excellent source for Chardonnay, particularly the famed Dutton Ranch. Helen Turley of MARCASSIN spent a couple of years consulting here and the quality shines through.

Minimalist practices such as native yeast fermentation are employed. The Zins are vibrant and full of rich fruit, the Chardonnay broad, nutty and toasty. The range is completed by a Russian River Pinot Noir including a Reserve example, a Sauvignon Blanc, a pricier Reserve Chardonnay (£F) and a restrained cedary Cabernet Sauvignon. (DM)
