Laetitia Winery Arroyo Grande
Selim Zilkha was among a number of partners who purchased Laetitia from Champagne DEUTZ in the late 1990s. He has acquired sole ownernership. Sound, well-priced sparklers were the foundation of production here and are still being made but the real focus of the winery now is on good-quality estate and single-vineyard Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Noir. Other wines are released under the Nadia label. The vast majority of the output is still wines. The wines are good and well made with reasonable depth, intensity and concentration of flavour. Estate wines are produced from Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Syrah and Pinot Noir; and there are pricier single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from the La Colline, Les Galets and La Coupelle vineyards. The estate wines are generally very fairly priced; the single-vineyard Pinots will stretch the pocket a little more. (DM)
