Monte da Ravasqueira Alentejo
A new but promising operation in Alentejo. It is a family venture with a projected 30,000 cases from 34 ha of vineyards, made by the widely experienced Rui Reguinga. The very reasonably priced Fonte da Serrana (a second label) is based on Aragonês, Trincadeira and Cabernet Sauvignon andshows good richness and lots of character. Monte da Ravasqueira adds in some Alicante and Touriga Nacional and is slightly more concentrated but seems set to develop a stylish, savoury complexity with a hint of carob and will be best with 5–6 years’ age.
