Patricia Green Cellars Ribbon Ridge
Impressive property established by former Torii Mor winemakers Patty Green and Jim Anderson. The focal point of the operation is the 21 ha (52 acre) Estate Vineyard in Ribbon Ridge, which the pair purchased in 2000. As well as the Estate bottling wines have been made from a range of other vineyards too. These include Balcombe, Ana, Anden, Bonshaw and Whistling Ridge. Shea Vineyard has also been produced along with a number of other labels for tiny lot productions, including grapes sourced from the Hirsch Vineyard in the Russian River. Vinification is carried out with native yeasts and lees are often added back during barrel ageing. They are rich and concentrated, almost animal, gamey styles of Pinot Noir. The Estate Vineyard shows impressive concentration. Well-priced Sauvignon Blanc is becoming increasingly important as well. (DM)
