Siduri Russian River Valley
An extensive range of fine and stylish Pinot Noirs, as well as impressive Syrah under the NOVY label have been made by this small warehouse operation on the outskirts of Santa Rosa since its first vintage in 1994. Diana and Adam Lee recently sold their operation to Kendall-jackson and have practiced an absolutely minimalist approach to winemaking and to date no wine they have bottled has been either fined or filtered. The objective is to produce wines that are expressive of the region or individual terroir from which they have been sourced. A range of single-vineyard bottlings have included the high-profile Pisoni Vineyard among them. Pinot is now sourced all the way from the Willamette Valley in Oregon down to the Sta. Rita Hills AVA in Santa Barbara County – the only problem being that there’s not very much about. Vineyard sources are expected to remain the same under the new ownership for the time being. (DM)
