Viñedo Chadwick Maipo
A recently established premium label owned by ERRAZURIZ, with a vineyard located on the northern bank of the Maipo river into the foothills of the Andes. The 300 ha property has been in the Chadwick family since 1945. The vineyard covers a mere 15 ha of the best stony/clay soils. It is now planted to the best field selections from both Maipo and the Don Maximiano vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carmenère. The wine is aged in 100% new French oak. It complements the other top Errazuriz red, SEÑA, and shows some of the character that can be achieved in the Maipo as well as the Panquehue sub-region of Aconcagua where Errazuriz is based. At present it has impressive depth but is leaner and less opulent than Seña. Firmly structured with a cedary edge to its fruit, it needs at least 5 years to soften. (DM)
