Cheers! It’s National Drink Wine Day

(WCMH)– After work today, sit back, relax and enjoy that glass of Vino. After all, it is National Drink Wine Day.

There are some health benefits to consuming wine as well. Moderate drinkers have lower risks for liver disease, type two diabetes, heart attack, stroke, and some cancers.

Wine has also been known to reduce “bad” cholesterol, or LDL, and increase “good” cholesterol, known as HDL.

According to Delish.com, the top 10 producers of wine in the world are:

  2. France
  3. Spain
  4. United States
  5. Argentina
  6. Australia
  7. South Africa
  8. Germany
  9. Chile
  10. Portugal

And the top producing states in the US are:

  1. California
  2. Washington
  3. New York
  4. Oregon
  5. Pennsylvania

Also according to Delish.com, a five ounce glass of wine has 100 calories in it and is fat-free and cholesterol free.

So today, sip that Merlot or Chardonnay, and spread the word that it is National Drink Wine Day.
